What is microneedling?

What’s the difference between microneedling and nanoneedling?
Microneedling needles go to the epidermal layer, performed once a month, and go to a depth 0.25-1.5mm.
Nanoneedling can be performed up to twice a week, needles are 0.15mm depth, good for around eyes, lips, hands, enhances serum absorption by 97%, and with little to no redness.
Nanoneedling is much less invasive than microneedling. It doesn’t require any numbing cream and has zero downtime. Microneedling is best for targeting deeper wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation, and more, whereas nanoneedling allows for your products to be absorbed better and will give you more of an instant glow!
What does microneedling treat?
Alternative to injections and surgery to address skin conditions such as: fine lines, acne scars, skin laxity, enlarged pores, crow’s feet, lip wrinkles, dark spots including melasma, stretch marks, and hair restoration.
How does microneedling work?
The needles create tiny Micro-channels on the surface of the skin. The micro-channels stimulate a healing response in the skin, which increases production of both collagen and elastin. Having more collagen and elastin causes the skin to become firmer, reduces scars gradually and smooths wrinkles over time. It increases the absorption of skin care products, which helps enhance results based on the effects of the serums used.
How often can I get microneedling?
Microneedling is done once a month for 4 to 6 months to achieve optimal results.
Why can microneedling only be done once a month?
Results occur based on the turnover time of skin cells, which increases as we age. The skin cells have a cycle that is about a month from stem to mature cells. It is not recommended to do it more frequently as it could create damage.
How frequently can I get nanoneedling?
Unlike microneedling, which requires longer intervals between sessions, nanoneedling can be performed up to twice a week, making it a perfect addition to your regular skincare routine. How many treatments are needed?

Can I just get one microneedling session to see how I like it?
No, because you need to have 3-6 monthly sessions monthly to achieve results. There is no point in just one session because results will be minimal. We provide programs that incorporate multiple services that help achieve optimal results, so people can have more radiant, younger looking skin.
Can I opt out of certain services and pay less for my microneedling sessions?
While you can opt out of services, it does not affect the price of the programs. The individual services would cost more as they would be priced for their full value.
Can I get microneedling on just part of my face for less?
No. The same amount of time is allotted for each patient and the program pricing would not be affected. Why wouldn’t you want to achieve optimal results for your entire face?
How long do the results last?
The effects of microneedling can last for up to two to five years, providing you with long lasting satisfaction. The better you take care of your skin and health can contribute to the results of the treatments. Regular maintenance sessions over time can help further prolong the benefits.
Does it hurt?
Nanoneedling is pain free and can be performed weekly. Most microneedling only needs to be done at a depth of 0.5mm, so it tends not to be painful. Some people can be more sensitive and certain areas treated can be more sensitive. When microneedling is done at deeper depths, such as when addressing deeper wrinkles or dark spots, it can be uncomfortable. Numbing cream can be applied prior to microneedling to minimize discomfort. Afterwards, it may feel like a mild sunburn. A soothing aloe and serum infused mask is applied to help alleviate any discomfort at the end of the treatment.
How long does a microneedling/nanoneedling session take?
All the services included in the program are in sessions that last up to 60 minutes. It’s important to be on time in order to maximize treatment time during the appointment.
Who is a good candidate for microneedling?
Individuals with various skin concerns like aging signs, scars, and uneven texture can consider microneedling. Contact us to see if microneedling is right for you.
What may make someone ineligible for microneedling?
Individuals with active skin infections, such as herpes or impetigo, should avoid microneedling until the infection has completely cleared up. Similarly, those with conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea might need to consult a dermatologist before undergoing microneedling.
If you have open wounds, cuts, or significant skin abrasions in the treatment area, microneedling should be postponed until the skin has fully healed. Microneedling could potentially exacerbate the existing issue or cause discomfort.
Microneedling should not be performed on sunburned. It is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure (such as: tanning, not using sunscreen, extended periods in direct sunlight without protection) and avoid tanning bed use at least one week prior to treatment. It’s recommended to wait until the skin has fully recovered from sun exposure to avoid complications.
Individuals who are prone to developing keloid scars (raised, thickened scars) might be advised against microneedling, as the procedure could potentially trigger the formation of more keloids.
While there isn’t conclusive evidence suggesting that microneedling is harmful during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is best to err on the side of caution and recommend waiting until after these periods.
Individuals with bleeding disorders, immune system disorders, or chronic skin conditions should consult a healthcare professional before undergoing microneedling to ensure that the procedure is safe for them.
Some medications, such as certain acne medications or blood-thinning drugs, might increase the risk of complications from microneedling. Your healthcare provider should be consulted if you’re on any medications that could potentially interfere with the procedure.
In cases of severe scarring, particularly deep scars or scars caused by burns, it’s important to consult with a dermatologist or healthcare provider before considering microneedling, as the procedure might not be effective or suitable for addressing these concerns.
Those under chemo/radiotherapy should not undergo microneedling due to increased risk of infection.
Can I have microneedling done if I have had cosmetic treatments?
Inform your practitioner about any recent cosmetic treatments or procedures you’ve undergone in the treatment area. They can advise on the appropriate timing and potential interactions.
What depth is microneedling performed?
Most microneedling is done at a depth of 0.5mm because of the location of skin cells that affect the production of collagen. The new collagen fibers thicken the skin, fill in wrinkles and encourage growth of healthy new skin cells. Microneedling allows treatments to access the lower layer of the skin to affect the deeper cells with very little damage to the skin cells in the upper layer of the skin. Some microneedling is done at deeper depths of 1-1.5 mm for deeper wrinkles and dark spots, which affect deeper layers of the skin.
Is natural medicine REALLY powerful enough to resolve the problems of aging skin?
